I have given and shown a lot of support for the INDY music scene in the past couple of years, booking a ton of shows, making a ton of flyers and promoting for FREE, and meeting a ton of cool bands and people. On the other side of the coin, there are a lot of unscrupulous business men, con artists, snake oil salesmen, and egotistical hucksters that, IMO, are fucking shit up for everybody else. I know, I know, be patient, karma will bite them in the end. That being said, I’m the type of guy who, when I see a D-bag, I can’t help but to make it known that certain people, are in fact, raging assholes who are only out to make a name for themselves and make as much $$$ as they can in the meantime, taking the purity out of what should be a beautiful creative outlet for artistic souls. So, all in all, cover bands are running this scene, which is a shame. I’m not knocking cover bands, there are some good ones who just wanna have fun, but then there are some fucktards who honestly just ruin things for everybody with their pompous middle-aged, mid-life crisis conceit. I guess I just wanna say, well, you know, fuck Facebook, fuck the cock-smokes who think they are better than everybody else, and fuck the people who are making the INDY music scene nothing but a business deal and monopoly of trendy bullshit. Give it a year, we’ll see what’s what when the body parts are finally buried…

Some really fun and exciting stuff in the works. Have kept in touch with an old friend of mine who has lived in Hollywood the past decade, and we’ve discussed the possibility of writing a movie together on and off for several years now. We’ve FINALLY come together on an idea, which will be a low budget comedy-horror film! The thing of it is, it will have worldwide distribution (such as several films my buddy has already produced and starred in). But the real kicker? It will feature a bunch of local INDY bands in the soundtrack! With the Halloween spirit currently in season, please send your “spooky themed” songs to us for consideration in this Hollywood production. There will be no payment involved, but you will keep full rights to your work, and have your music distributed in DVD stores across the globe, not to mention Netflix! If interested, give me a hollar. I will definitely keep this topic updated as production gets under way.

Hey, my name is Michael A. Dyer. I’m the “President” of PRIMORDIAL PRODUCTIONS, so it seems fitting that I have some occasional rambling, rantings and ravings about the growth of our company, and insights on the INDY music scene in general. If and when I do, they’ll be posted here, uh, OK then, thankee…
I’m on your Facebook list and have read some of your rants and see how some people react so stupidly to it. I see cover bands are the big thing right now and it’s too bad that so many just follow along and don’t appreciate originality and fighting against the system instead of happily bowing down to it for the sake of a dollar. Most people don’t know what’s good or bad, their tastes are so screwed up by pop culture they can hardly make their own decisions anymore, it’s easier to just suck up and bend over, get drunk and shake their titties around. I don’t agree with everything you’ve said, and I haven’t read all of it, but I got your back bro.
Thanks Pete, appreciate that. I have made a bunch of new friends, and worked with some really awesome local bands, but at the same time, about 50% of INDY’s scene is utterly pathetic, and doing it all for the wrong reasons if you ask me. I know 45 year old men in cover bands who are only doing it to, in their words, “impress people they went to high-school with”… It’s sad…. Indy’s scene is so spread out and disorganized, it’s easy for schmucks to come in with a little influence and money to throw around, and start a monopoly… It’s BS… Sometimes I wanna move out of state, and thankfully, in the months to come, PRIMORDIAL will be stretching out beyond our borders…

I’m just over Facebook… Hence the creation of several new websites, including PRIMORDIAL here… If people wanna debate with me, or talk about what an asshole I am, they’ll actually have to make the trek to one of my own websites to do it from now on… I don’t expect any trouble, most people are lazy, afterall….
